For a long time, I thought my love for DJing and my studies in sports management were two separate paths. Over time, I’ve realized how deeply connected they actually are. Both industries thrive on energy, emotion, and experience, whether it’s the crowd going wild or the rush of a packed dance floor. My goal is to build a career that blends those worlds using music and sports to create moments that bring people together.
Working in fan engagement at the University of Nevada, Reno, has shown me how much creativity goes into keeping fans excited. From halftime music to interactive events, entertainment drives the atmosphere. As a DJ, I understand how sound can shape emotion, set a tone, and make an experience memorable. That crossover is exactly where I see myself growing professionally, using my previous experience in both to design better fan experiences.
If you’re passionate about more than one thing, don’t feel pressured to choose between them. The most exciting careers often happen where your interests overlap. I picked up DJing and started my master’s program a year and a half ago, and I haven’t looked back. I encourage you all to start exploring the connections between your passions, and you might just find your dream path waiting in between.
